Big is Bad !!!!

State bank of India is the biggest bank of India. Experts say that it will become worlds biggest bank if all State Banks are merged with SBI. That may be true. But we have to be careful of the fact that all big institutions in India have fallen not due to external involvement, but due to its own weight. (Ex:Mughal Empire, British Indian Empire etc)

Mergers and Acquisitions in Karnataka politics

Though merger and accquicition is a business term, they r not entirely uncommon in Indian politics.Today there is little difference between politics and business. But unlike in business here small fishes eat big fishes.Basically Its was the real estate interest which forced to Devegowda to buy BJP state unit. The deal was finalised after Devegowda had many rounds of cladestine meeting with BJP former supremo Sri A.B.Vajapayee.
It seems like BJP is divesting its shares. In Karnataka H.D.Devegowda and sons has accaquired the state unit of BJP. They state unit which was orphened by the desertation of S.Bangarappa has accquired new saviour in the form of Sri H.D.Kumaraswamy whose leadership has breathed new life in to the BJP.
though they call it a coalition, reality shows a different picture. BJP has also given up all its old agenda and resolved to the agenda assigned to them by their new master Sri Devegowdaji. The entire state unit obey the command of Devegowda, this deal with the BJP has brought the dominent ligayat community under Devegowda.
It looks very funny.
When Dr.H.D Devegowda became Prime Minister of India outsmarting Ramakrishna Hegde, leader of Brahmin community these people (BJP) were fuming, they went around saying Mr Gowda is a illiterate and rustic,he has brought disgrace to Karnataka,He is a useless fellow, his kids are rowdies etc, etc. but today all these wisemen are licking the shoes of his son!.
BJP has a very strong base in my native Mangalore,Dakshina Kannada district. There my cousins and his friends were BJP supporters. Since I my kannada accent was different these 'wisemen used to call me gowda. Aaaye Gowde... they used to refer me . It used to irritate me, Today I feel like telling them"Gowda is in your party's poojaroom".
No wonder if BJP project Devegowda as Prime Minister in the next general election!

Save "Mysore"

I would like to take exception to change of spelling of Mysore, There is little difference between the pronunciation of Mysore and Mysooru.People usually pronounce it as Mysur. Secondly Mysore has a prestigious place in Indian history, which it has lost today.
Unlike Bombay, Madras and Calcutta that was founded by British and carried the burden of colonial legacy, Mysore fills our hearts with pride when we see the name 'Mysore ' in the history books.
It is in the first Anglo-Mysore war that the British tasted their first major defeat at the hands of an Indian army. In the second Mysore war, Sir Hector Munroe, the victor of Buxar fled to Madras throwing his guns and stores into a tank. It is in the Mysore war that the missiles were first used. All along the British occupation Mysore was ruled by local rulers except for a brief period of 50 years. In the post Independence years Mysore lent its name to the state. It is difficult to forget the name Mysore pak,Mysore silks, Mysore sandals etc. Mysore is one place in the map that Indians can show the world with pride.
I hope all Mysorians will be happy to retain the spellings as it reminds us of our glorious past and it will not affect Kannada and culture in any way .
What do you think fellow Mysorians?........Naanu heliddu sariyideya?,Thappiddare dayavittu tilisi. Dhanyavada
